Eileen Gu won gold in women's Big Air in freestyle skiing at the Beijing Winter Olympics
In the final round held on yesterday morning, Gu landed three clean jumps and finished with a total score of 188.25. On the last run, she completed a left-side double cork 1620 with a safety grab which is one of the hardest tricks in freestyle skiing.
This was her first Olympic medal and also Team China’s first gold in the snow event at the Beijing Olympics Games.
